Just an impression of the book I am not sure this book conveys the depth of Rossi's thoughts really well. There are not too many pictures of actual buildings although the (small) pictures shown are so good that I am wanting to see more. Most of the book is dedicated to the (colorful) sketches and the models, which are shown proportionally gigantic compared to the photos of actual buildings and tiny drafted drawings... not to mention that there aren't too many photos of the interior. Overall it gives an impression of more of a fantasy land and in that way is being humorous rather than being serious, to a degree that it almost feels like the editor inverted the importance of the real and the other on purpose to tease you. But I paid over the listed price, and it's not funny. Now I have to find another book to complement this one. However, for the used book price, I'd say that it is totally worth it. It does have lots of stuffs showing the master's process (and an excellent essay called 'the theater of shadows').
